There are several guest parking areas located by the pool and all guests should park there. These guest parking areas are not for homeowners to park in.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Parking on the street contributes to traffic congestion and since much of Natchez is a one-way street, this is of great concern to the Association. Furthermore, many guests have been spotted parking partially on the street and partially on the grass. This damages the grass and sprinkler heads and is very costly. They also wish to stress the importance of citizens doing their part to protect themselves by not presenting opportunity-criminals with the chance to ruin your holiday. Additional officers will be on high-visibility patrol around shopping areas, banks, and the like. They will also be available to provide bank escorts for businesses that request them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Particular problems this time of year are theft from automobiles and residential burglaries. These are the most preventable crimes. If citizens remove the opportunity, the crime is less likely to occur. Here are some tips to help protect your home and property:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;At Home:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;• Make sure to keep doors and windows locked.&lt;br /&gt;• Turn on outside lights at night.&lt;br /&gt;• Report persons or vehicles roaming your neighborhood, day or night so police may check them. They may be simply looking at Christmas lights, or they may be “casing” houses to burglarize.&lt;br /&gt;• Place your tree where the gifts will be less visible from outside. Thieves like window-shopping through your windows.&lt;br /&gt;• After Christmas, don’t put the empty boxes out on the curb. This makes it easy for burglars to decide which houses to burglarize (ie: new computers, TVs, electronics, video games…). Break down boxes and put them in the trash, making sure to save all paperwork. Also remember many electronic devices require original boxes for warranty repair.&lt;br /&gt;• Immediately make an inventory listing the model and serial numbers of new items (and old ones if you haven’t already) and engrave personal markings on them (example: “SCDL 1234567”- using your driver’s license number helps police get recovered stolen items back to the owner).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;If Leaving Home:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;• Make it look like you are still there.&lt;br /&gt;• Timers on exterior lights, interior lights, and TVs will help make it look like you are home. Don’t leave an answering machine message saying you are gone, in fact turning it off would be better.&lt;br /&gt;• Double check all doors and windows, including second floor and basement. The doors should have dead-bolts; key locks for windows are also available.&lt;br /&gt;• Have the neighbor pick up mail, papers, and ads, put out your trash can, and park in your driveway. Give them emergency and cell numbers to reach you.&lt;br /&gt;• Call the police department to request a periodic residence check (“Keep-A-Check”) while you are away.&lt;br /&gt;• When you return, look around outside first. If you see any evidence of a break-in, do not go inside. Go to a neighbor’s house and call police. Reserve funds meet legal, fiduciary, and professional requirements. Reserve funds minimize the need for special assessments or borrowing. Reserve funds enhance resale values. Lenders and real estate agents are aware of the ramifications for new buyers if the reserves are inadequate.  &lt;p class=MsoNormal&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=Georgia&gt;&lt;span style='font-size:11.0pt; font-family:Georgia'&gt;&amp;nbsp;The Board together with Community Management Group is working hard on the 2010 budget.&amp;nbsp; We are renegotiating contracts, collecting bids and reviewing the previous year&amp;#8217;s financial reports in order to create the most accurate budget.&amp;nbsp; An initial draft will be presented to the Board before the end of the month.&amp;nbsp; A finalized copy will be mailed to each owner once approved.&amp;nbsp; Additionally, the assessments will be billed monthly beginning in March 2010.&amp;nbsp; You still have the option to pay the quarter in advance with no penalty.&amp;nbsp; However, the monthly payment seems to be a bit of a relief for many homeowners during this harsh economic time.&amp;nbsp; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class=MsoNormal&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=Georgia&gt;&lt;span style='font-size:11.0pt; The irrigation system that runs throughout the community is often damaged by vehicles driving over the turf.  The sprinkler heads are destroyed and the expense to the association for the repairs can be quite costly.  Also, please utilize your driveway and garage for your permanent parking.  The additional parking pads located throughout the community are for guest parking.  When these spaces are being used regularly by residents the guests have no where to park. An Ordinance to amend the Code of the City of Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter Five, Sections Four and Five to prohibit the use of voice control to restrain animals and require the use of a leash or other means of physical control became effective March 1, 2009. If an aggressive animal is sighted on property please don't hesitate to contact the police department immediately. This was due to a faulty fill valve which needed to be ordered.  During the delivery time, the vendor was manually filling the fountain when he was on-site allowing it to work until the water level dropped.
